On the Help and Advice page, you can find out how to access this information from your phone, desktop computer, or laptop. There are two options for finding messages that have been deleted on either a desktop or laptop computer; one is recovering messages that have not yet been permanently deleted and the other is recovering messages that have already been permanently deleted. Note: This method only works if you are using a non-Windows operating system, such as Linux or Apple OSX.
If you’re using a non-Windows operating system, such as Apple OSX or Linux, your options are different. First, you need to download Gpg4win and GnuPG tools. This will allow you to recover messages that have not yet been permanently deleted. If your message has already been permanently deleted, then it may be possible to recover them using data recovery software like Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST Repair.

Contact Facebook support
There are some steps you can take if you’ve deleted messages on Facebook. They are:
-Find the browser or app you used to delete your messages, select Help, and follow the prompts to recover your messages. This may be called Reset or Clear browsing data. -Contact Facebook support and provide them with as much information as possible about your account including when and how many messages were deleted. -If you don’t want us storing any of your messages after deletion, please delete all of your saved chats in chat settings by selecting Save conversations before logging out. Remember that once we finish storing all the old chats, we won’t save any new ones after that time – but they’ll still be available on Messenger and in Group chats.
